The Way of Writing
...you’ll avoid the slow rot that comes from letting machines do all your thinking.
Writing still remains one of the most difficult and underrated, yet rewarding skills out here.
You already know how hard it can be to write these days. In the previous email, we talked about why writing feels so difficult.
To avoid this difficulty, many people, especially those who understand the benefits of writing (business owners, founders, CEOs) quickly turn to artificial intelligence. Not just for writing, but also for thinking.
AI has both the good and the bad. But regardless, there’s no need to outsource your writing entirely to AI. Doing that risks a rotting mind and soulless words that people simply don’t respond to.
That’s why I believe every person is better off finding their own way of writing.
So what is the way of writing?
It’s writing that comes naturally to you.
Writing that speaks in a language that others can understand.
Writing that makes people respond.
I’ve been steady in the game and the skill development of writing for over 10 years. I’ve studied great writers. I’ve paid real dollars to learn. And to this day, people send me money to help them write.
But the money is not the point.
The point is to stay sharp. So that more people can benefit from what I know. Not everyone needs to be a skilled writer. But someone, including you needs to be around a professional writer.
My way of writing is simple:
I wake up and write first thing in the morning using with my hand. Not typing but with pen and paper. Even when it’s difficult. Even when I stare at a blank page. I still write.
I love writing. I love growing my digital audience and putting out content.
Nobody loves writing more than me!
And as a liberated reader of Nick’s Letters, I want to show you this way.
If you follow this way, you’ll avoid the slow rot that comes from letting machines do all your thinking. And even if you don’t write a lot, you’ll start to recognize what good writing feels like and what it can do for you.
That brings me to the meat of today’s message:
The way of writing... is thinking.
Yes, it’s not that you can’t write. It’s that you don’t give yourself space to think.
To listen to your mind.
To train it.
To articulate and arrange your thoughts.
Start thinking and see your writing improve.
In the next letter, we’ll talk more about thinking like a writer. Even if you are not a writer and do not want to become one. Thinking like a writer has lots of benefits as you are going to see.
If you have some ideas, write me back with some of your thoughts.
