What is separating winning self-improvers from loser motivational speakers.

Happy Monday family!

Yesterday, I was looking at a meme posted by someone on my WhatsApp feed.

I like memes and I believe you do too. Because having a sense of humor is a great indicator of someone’s mental maturity. But memes are not just for laughs. No! There is always a message coded in that piece of media called a meme. In most cases, it is the person sharing the meme trying to communicate a message instead of saying it directly.

Anyway.

In the WhatsApp post, a young lady, through a meme, was trying to communicate her progress in the year 2024 especially given people were still talking resolutions and about New Year plans right, left, and centre. The meme was saying this; tomorrow is Monday and I am now going to restart my 2024 on a fresh note. It got my mind rolling as usual, and I knew I could dissect the idea behind the meme.

To me, it communicates the lack of supporting habits in your goals if you have any. Especially given it is the same person who was optimistic about winning and doing it big in 2024. It was someone who was heard saying that the first thing they are going to start in 2024 is exercising. But here they are, communicating through a meme that they have not been doing anything in 2 weeks to get ahead in smashing their goals. These are the people I was talking about in the letter where I talked about the fear of self-development. Such people talk about plans the whole day until the cows return home but never take any action.

These are people who are not ready to do what it takes to improve and succeed in any area of life.

Of course, I am not saying they are losers, but we can see how beginning a journey can be so hard for many. SO hard that most give up. Deciding to do something and giving up on it even without trying is a bad habit. That is why such people badly need training in habits. For that can hopefully get them going. For example, instead of going to the gym as they had said they would at the beginning of the year, they should have at least done a morning run or done some squats at home in the 2 weeks of January. Such small acts alone can lead to big results and help achieve goals. As we can see, they have not done anything regarding their goals if the meme interpretation is right and to be believed.

Anyway, they do not have to worry about anything. Because we have the medicine.

Here is the medicine!

People are so motivated as the year begins. But when the time to put in the work comes, they sit on the fence, letting time slip away as opportunities pass ‘em.

I understand that it can be so hard to start working on your goals especially if they are big. I understand how pumped up and motivated you can get at the begining of the year only to end up doing non of what you planned. That is why this article on my blog uses my personal goals and success story regarding a challenge I took back in June 2023. Read about how to train yourself to get things done by developing routines and habits to support your goal. The blog article is especially great for writers and marketers but can be used and applied by anyone who wants to train their habits.

See you there.

Until next week fam. Cheers.

Nick Osale.
