Would You Take A $45 Per Hour Writing Job?

I did and I wish you don't!

My friend.

Back in August, I came across a LinkedIn job advertisement that was so enticing.

A job advertisement that promised to pay so damn well.

Now.

As I have been telling you along in these letters, writing is the foundation of sales and marketing. And guess what? Sales and marketing are the highest-paying professions in the world. Many people think that the highest-paying job in the world is engineering.

Or medicine.

Or law.

They are terribly misinformed.

So it goes without saying, writing is such a lucrative career if you get good at it and know where to look for work.

Anyway.

So what about the enticing advertisement?

Yes, it caught my attention and after reading through the roles and requirements, I was convinced I could apply and win it.

And yes! I won.

A few weeks later I got an email from the International Association of Profesional Writers and Editors. It was all about informing me that I had been selected for the position of writer. Happy as a king, I did what they required of me. That was logging into their system to complete a few tasks before onboarding.

And now guess what?

After a few days, I learned that the job was actually a scum.

How did I learn it was a scum?

Soon after getting into their system, they asked me to do some kind of registration and pay using my credit card details.

That was when I smelt a rat.

I was alerted…so my mind told me to do this. Go to Google and do some research

Guess what? There were a handful of reviews showing that indeed, the job was a scum and many had acknowledged it.

How did I not see that from the beginning?

Well, my friend, I am also wondering why.

Anyway. Why I do not wish for you to take such kinda jobs and what kind of jobs should a writer take?

You see, the job itself was not a scum, but the procedure was scummy because they don’t let you from the go that they are job brokers who need you to pay them so that they can look and give you writing jobs.

And even after doing deeper research, I did not find any single positive review for the company that I was going to be working with.

So that was when I quit and sad fvck you.

I was played.

But luckily I did not lose anything except my precious time.

That is why I wish for you don’t get such jobs.

Because most of them are job brokers.

Here is what Job brokers do.

They are directly connected to business people who are in need of writers.

Then they take a big payment and look for beginner writers and offer them the job. They pay you a fraction of what they make. This fraction is mostly peanuts. Almost 1 percent of what they are paid. That is what is happening even with some freelance job sites out there.

So does that mean that writing is a doomed career?

Exactly not!

You see, having someone send you 1000 dollars every month to write a few articles or emails or any type of written content on the internet is such a realistic expectation. I have seen it.

I am a member of an American-based wiring school and community where people are making such kind of money. And this is what they teach if you want to become a well-paid writer. Don’t focus much on freelance job websites. Instead, byuld your own writer's profile. It could be website or a LinkedIn page. Then look for business owners who need your services and serve them directly. That way, you won’t be scummed or even cut short your efforts and work.

That is what I wish for you. That is whatim going to do. I hope you look for writing jobs in the right places from the right people.

Now does that mean that I am not a paid writer and you should stop listening to me?

Your choice.

But here is the thing. Much of what I do back in my day job is writing emails for a PR and Communications company and the owner is happy to pay me every month for that. I also write social media posts that grab people's attention and have them act upon something. In the end, my employer’s clients are happy to see such a good writer and that is why I have job security until the day I decide to fvck up. However, as you know it, millions are not made in jobs. Millions are made in doing business. That is why I am building a list of prospects that I am going to pitch my service and get them to pay me those big cheques that I deserve as a direct response marketer and marketer. You are going to witness that as soon as it happens.

But my writing services aren’t for everybody. They are for business owners in health, marketing, and sales. That is where my focus and strength and interest are and also where a lot of writing money is made.

And that is why I don’t wish you to go take those scummy kinds of jobs. These are low-hanging fruits. As you know it, low-hanging fruits are not sweet. Let us go for the top and cream writing jobs using the strategy I have told you about. Let me repeat the strategy. Find business owners in need of writing and work with them directly. Don’t go to freelance job websites, you will be cut short or played like they did to me.

Now my darling reader. I appreciate you up to this point. I am not going to be selling you anything soon. Instead, I am going to keep sending you value that can help you in your life and business. In the upcoming emails, we are going to dive deeper into marketing. Look at how to plan a successful marketing campaign. How to develop a strategy. How to do market research among many other interesting stuff that can help you in your life and business. Should you find or find value in all that I have been writing to you up until now, welcome, and feel free to buy me a coffee through this link.

Talk soon.
