Sunday Church Mass Helpers
But this church-in-State-House story made me laugh.
The masses of the world are in critical need of spiritual optimism and divine connection. And for many, the church is their preferred supplier.
Every Sunday, it’s like the whole world slows down. The ghosts of apostles and the spirit of Christ seem to hover above the earth. People gather to reflect glory back to the Creator, hoping to secure a golden ticket to heaven and live happily ever after. Amen.
But here’s my biased opinion which you don’t have to agree.
The Sunday church is running on a script. A script written by the creators of world systems, not God the Creator. It’s an idea inside a bigger idea. And today, we won’t dig into the roots. Just know this: what you think is holy might be manufactured sickness.
Now, let’s zoom in a little.
According to the book of Exodus, God told the Israelites to remember the sabbath and keep it holy. That’s why governments shut down, businesses go quiet, and your boss stops sending emails on Sunday. Except… Sunday isn’t even the real sabbath.
So what exactly are people doing in church on Sunday?
They say it’s worship. But to me, that sounds like the answer of a tired brain. A brain that doesn’t question. A brain that hasn’t read or written in a while. Which is exactly how the system likes it.
And this is where my term comes in: Sunday Church Mass Helpers.
These are the people who get herded every Sunday into buildings, hoping to meet God but mostly just meeting each other’s perfumes and personal dramas. They are good people, but heavily affected by world soul sickness. Some call it the Matrix. I call it organized ignorance..
And I’m not against church. Not at all.
But let’s be honest. The masses are always the easiest to manipulate. And the Sunday crowd, with all their good intentions, might not be in the best place to seek something as personal and intimate as divine connection and spiritual optimism.
Just the other day I heard Kasongo is building a church in State House. Whether it’s complete or not, I wouldn’t know. I avoid politics for the same reason I avoid toxic herbal tea, it weakens my thinking.
But this church-in-State-House story made me laugh.
Because I believe, truly, that you can meet God through writing.
Yes, writing. The simple act of putting your thoughts into words can be an altar.
Writing helps you see yourself. It makes you aware of things you didn’t know you were carrying. Writing can be an act of devotion. It can make you a co-creator with God.
But of course, very few will ever see it that way.
They’re too busy being Sunday Church Mass Helpers. Smiling politely. Waiting for the skies to open an down come a man to save them from world soul sickness.
You don’t need to write daily emails like me. But I believe you are better if you pick at least one day to sit with yourself and write. In a notebook. In Google Docs. Wherever. Just write.
And maybe, the hand of God will be with you.
So go write whatever word.
What are you waiting for?
Write.
Nick.
