What next after graduation?
The dean of character development had to say this about happiness and success.
Happy Monday fam.
I have a very beautiful cousin who graduated as an engineer over the last weekend.
And it is not just my cousin.
I know many others who have also graduated or are going to graduate very soon before the year ends.
Now listen. I understand what it is to finish school and eventually become job-ready as one gets into the industry. But as you may know my philosophy by now, I do not believe in employment as a way to become happy and fulfilled.
I certainly don’t believe public education is needed for a fulfilled life.
Because you know what?
Public education is just the indoctrination of the masses into obedience and conformity. So going down the road of graduating and getting a job is following the masses. This move without a doubt will expose you to fewer opportunities and more competition.
That is why today I am introducing to you the story of Earl Nightingale. An American radio host and speaker who was known for no-BS personal development advice.
Relatively known as the dean of personal development, Earl Nightingale emphasized setting goals and designing your own life out of society.
One of the lessons that we are going to see is perfect for my cousin and many others who are just getting out of the education system and are hoping to break into the world of work in this case; employment.
The lesson is found in one of his recordings where Earl opened by asking.
Have you ever thought about how the spoils in life go to the risk-takers?
Well, who are risk-takers?
Risk takers are those who follow the road less traveled and take actions many people fear to take. In reality, these risk-takers are not even taking risks. They are doing the right thing which is refusing to conform to societal conditioning. Which in turn promotes their holistic wellbeing.
He goes further to teach that people who get employed and get paid well never really get to experience life at its fullest. This is because they end up selling time to others while forgetting about themselves and mostly never even recognizing it. And don't get me wrong. It is not a bad thing at all to have a job. Because truly, the journey towards wealth and financial freedom begins by first selling your time and in this case maybe employment. Here, it means that if you get lucky enough to get into a lucrative career, design your life in line with growth and development, and avoid stagnation.
Now according to Earl Nightingale, there are 3 groups of people when it comes to financial success and personal development. One is the one who is selling their time to employers and does no personal work outside working hours. When he is not working, this person spends time on things that cannot help him escape the matrix. For example parties and useless road trips every weekend. The second group is this. The one who has a plan and uses the time out of work to develop his skills to increase income and get out of employment. This can be starting a business or learning new skills.
And then there is the third one. A complete risk taker who doesn’t bother about getting employed. This type takes the risk and stakes his livelihood and that of his family on his dreams. This kind of person thinks and comes up with ideas now and then with intention and faith to win.
Now it is the third person who often wins in life and receives success. Because the odds are against him, but in the event he wins, he will big and spin his life around. Yes, the second person is also applauded because they are still going to win if they keep up with doing something outside of working hours. The first person has been checkmated without haste and won’t even know it for their entire lifetime. This person is average and common.
Back at the graduating story.
As my cousin and many others are leaving the school system and getting into employment, this is vital information for them to have in mind.
They need to know the spoils will spill on them if they refuse to follow society.
My cousin for example who is very good at tik tok could start creating content and learning digital skills. She could also use the time away from work to improve her mental faculties, explore her spirituality, exercise, learn a skill, and set up herself for a financially free life.
Go over here and listen to Lead the Field by Earl Nightingale for more on how to lie outside society to set up yourself for genuine happiness and success.
