How to manage yourself well.
And at some level, you and your people start winning.
Self-management is the foundation of discipline. No matter how highly skilled and creative you may be, if you fail to manage yourself well, you will lack consistency by exposing yourself to burnout. This could lead you and your work into the trenches.
You are your business. It would be best if you managed yourself. Nobody can do it for you. Personal management is one of the things you can not outsource. For example, you can't outsource sleep or exercise. Oh lord, you can't even send someone to study or show up for you at work. This makes self-management very crucial for the development and thriving of humans. Whether we like it or not, we have to become our managers.
I am not a saint or perfect. I have issues, too. But I have been steady on my game writing and creating content for over four years now. Someone can easily say I have discipline when it comes to such matters. But I don't care!
Anyway. Once you can manage yourself well, you naturally become disciplined even without knowing it! You will start hearing people compliment you. And at some level, you and your people start winning.
I highly recommend this simple self-management hack to help you become a better manager for yourself so that you can win together with your people... Well, it's not even a hack! It's just a normal thing that a person like you can practice. But rarely practiced by people.
I have done it and I can recommend it. It's short and stupidly simple. You won't believe it!
Head over to my blog and read: On self-management.
