In a World Full of Dumb People, Learn How to Write
In a world full of dumb people, you’re better off learning how to write.
Many people today can’t write and this is the plain truth!
Not because they don’t have hands. Not because they don’t know English. But because they don’t think writing matters.
A few weeks back, I went close to six weeks without publishing anything. Sitting down to write felt hard. But I knew I couldn’t stay in that rut.
Because not writing makes you just like everyone else, and I don’t want to be like everyone else. Dumb people.
Let me tell you what happens when you don’t write:
Your brain becomes mashed potatoes.
You develop what I call a middle-level TikTok brain. Constantly distracted, shallow, reactive, and incapable of deep thinking.
And that kind of brain is a misfortune you bring upon yourself. Because you will be unable to think and always take the easy way out of anything that requires mental energy. And then end up with a bad life!
That is why I say with full bias that writing is thinking.
If your writing is weak, your thinking probably is too.
In this world that is designed to keep us dumb, writing gives you a clear mirror for your thoughts and it becomes your guide to acting effectively and intelligently.
This week alone, I’ve sent you an email every day. This is Day 6. Who in your family even does that? Be honest.
You, on the other hand, opened and read them and for that, I’ve got mad respect.
Because without you, I wouldn’t be writing these emails.
Writing daily has shown me who my active readers are. It’s sharpened my ideas.
And most of all, it has made me a better writer than I was just a week ago.
And guess what?
You’re smarter too, just by reading, reflecting, even disagreeing with what I say.
I understand that and it is ok that you don’t have to be a public writer like me.
But write something. Anything.
Start a note. Draft an idea. Put your thoughts on paper.
Writing will improve the way you think, and the way you act. That’s a promise.
What are you waiting for now?
Go write something.
THE END.
Nick.
