What I am Consuming Lately To Help Me Write Every Day.
You can write so well if you consume so well.
One of the biggest challenges you will face at the beginning of your digital writing is finding content to help you get your creative juices flowing. The truth is that we are living in a really disturbed and noisy world. Now more than ever, staying consistent on anything is becoming harder and harder. That is why when it comes to writing, you need to stay on track of what you are putting in your mind by being mindful of what you are consuming. Why?
Because your writing is a result of the content you consume.
That means if you don’t consume, you are gonna have difficulties writing.
Now look. I want to congratulate you for being part of the family and taking the time to read this newsletter.
In today’s letter, I want to tell you really what inspires me to write. What gives me the ideas to write about? What helps me to get flowing inspiration to write every day. And how you can do the same.
The thing is simple.
CURATE BEFORE YOU CREATE.
Yes, you got me right.
Many internet beginner writers skip this crucial exercise. And what exactly is curating? It is the simple exercise of making a library of books, articles, podcasts, youtube channels, newsletters, and authors to act as a foundation for your writing. Of course, I am not saying you should neglect your own personal experience. But surely exposing yourself to the right knowledge and information is going to accelerate your writing ability.
That is why I have made a list of 7 resources that I have been consuming and reading most lately. In this list, there are newsletters I read. There are podcasts I listen to. In it, there are also articles and books which have been inspiring me to write for over 3 years without long abnormal breaks.
Let's get in.
The almanac of naval ravikant.
This was the book that opened my life to real no bs self-work and improvement. Naval has freely taught the world how to create your own reality and make a living from your own uniqueness. Get the soft copy. It’s free by the way. Then follow up by listening to anything he says o the internet. He’s all over youtube, Spotify, and Twitter. Navalise yourself. Moving forward…
The beginning of infinity. A book by David Deutsch
This is a science book. What inspired me to explore science was the fact that Naval himself is kind of a scientist and his ideas are supported by science. And after discovering that Naval read a lot of this book, I couldn't help myself to get it. In my honest biased opinion, if there is a science book you wanna read, this is the book, my friend.
Dan Koe.
You definitely know Dan. He is a powerful force on Twitter right now. He is the inspiration for most of the upcoming accounts on Twitter. His content is based on human focus and how to channel it into your holistic personal development.
Three times newsletter.
This is a newsletter about big ideas, mental models, and principles of wise thinking. You see, you become wiser and enjoy life when you learn how to think properly. When you learn how to see the world how it is and not how you want it to be. And critical thinking is a big part of that. This newsletter opens your mind to powerful thinking you won’t believe
it!
5. Dan Kenedy’s magnetic marketing podcast.
My interest in persuasive writing led me to who I consider one of the world’s greatest persuasive writers. Magnetic marketing podcast teaches classic marketing ideas and principles on the whole marketing topic. It is a great place to draw lessons on running a business as well as life strategies and lessons as a marketer.
P.D Mangan.
If you want to live long in this world, you gotta stay healthy. Now PD is the guy who always shares the unorthodox health and fitness lessons many fear doing. He’s kind of like the red pill of health. He inspires me to share health information that many people are yet to appreciate. I have a lot of his lessons at the back of my head and I can easily write about health without being a medical doctor. Read him
Francis Melia.
Francis teaches fitness from also a rather unconventional angel. He is a student of sport and exercise science so he definitely knows what he is doing. Listen to me, my friend. The fitness space is full of bs. If you are interested in living your best life, start taking your health and fitness seriously. Don’t follow mainstream information. There are a lot of lies. However. A lot of my fitness content comes from his inspiration. From the way he trains. His diet. The way he rests and recovers. Of course, I paired that up with my experience in the gym and my general life. Coach Francis is the G!
There you go.
I would go on but I like keeping it short, you know. Remember this please, you can always grow your library but make sure to read from the best minds that exist or have ever existed out there.
Now. I believe some of the names listed above may be new to you. But don’t worry about that. The lesson to take still stands. And it’s this.
Writing on the internet needs curation to inspire your creation.
I want to encourage you to build your own library. And if you like any on the list above, add them to yours. And obviouisly, that is not all that I have been reading. It is just a fraction.
And the last call, please subscribe to the newsletter so you can receive updates when I post. Click here to subscribe. Until next time.
