3 Universal Problems to Inspire Your Writing.

A few weeks ago, I sent you an email where I mentioned something Jordan Peterson said about writing. If you already understand the benefits of writing and you're interested in writing for personal or business reasons, then there’s no better place to start than by looking at the problems in society and writing about them.

Society is full of problems. In fact, if there were no problems, we would never progress as a human species. You could even say that solving problems is what leads to happiness.

On a personal note, I often write about a problem many of us face in our daily lives: thinking. And I’ve connected that problem to writing because writing is how you train your mind to think clearly and deeply.

One of my early digital writing influences was a guy called Dan Koe. It’s through him that I first came across these three “universal problems” that can inspire your writing. He calls them niches, but I decided to flip that and just call them problems.

Whatever you choose to write about, it helps to subtly or openly introduce these three themes into your writing so people can relate to what you're saying.

Here they are:

Health
Wealth
Relationships

That’s it. Everyone can relate to these three things.

These problems are universal. Every human being, no matter where they are in the world, wants to make money to live better, stay healthy so they can live longer, and have meaningful relationships whether be it romantic or otherwise.

So look around you. Spot the problems in society that relate to these three areas. Investigate those problems, look for solutions, and write about them.

My promise is that people will read. Even if it's just a few, they will read.

The end.
