2024 Wrap up Reflections Part 2.

there’s something I really want to emphasize about writing.

This is the year that I became a professional writer. I am recognized and in good standing with the Professional Writers’ Alliance by the American Writers and Artists Institute. I started writing on the internet over ten years ago, but it is only in 2024 that my writing has made a significant impact on me and others.

On the writing practice, I wrote every single day and published my thoughts every week. I have finally found the inspiration to write and publish with ease. Have you ever felt that electric rush in your spine when the right words just flow effortlessly? That is the frequency I lived in this year. Effortless writing looks great and strategic to others, but it’s your intuition guiding you as you pen down your thoughts. Like the way I am doing right now.

The gold-standard training I received over the past year, combined with other courses I have undertaken, have helped me craft content that resonates with people. More and more readers are joining my weekly publications on platforms like Substack, WordPress, and LinkedIn. This year, my words have reached more people than ever. I have mastered the art of building relationships and sparking conversations through my writing.

What’s followed with my upgraded writing skills is the opportunity to help others craft written content and materials for their work and businesses. And having them give me the money.

  • A top entertainment executive in Nairobi, managing operations of the city’s hottest chill spots in Kilimani and Westlands, was glad to pay me for my writing.

  • Ukombozi Review now features my work and has even sent multiple payments to my M-Pesa!

  • A logistics founder has invested in streamlining his company’s communications and marketing materials through my writing.

  • A mental health founder also compensated me for developing their marketing plan.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’m already lining up for top clients for 2025 in the marketing niche which is my focus at the moment.

Simply put, I have finally understood the business side of writing through action in the marketplace.

In the beginning, it was all about expression; now, it’s about business.

But there’s something I really want to emphasize about writing—something more important than money. It’s what happens to you when you write more. Because, seriously, I could still make money through other means—in fact, I’m going to do that soon.

And the emphasis is this: writing can teach you to think sharper, listen better, and communicate more effectively. I want to encourage you to write daily and see how it transforms your professional and personal life.

2024 has been a terrific year for me. And the story is only getting started. In my next letter, I’ll reflect on how my writing skills connect to my work in marketing. Be on the lookout for the next email to see how it all ties together. You’re bound to learn a thing or two to help your business and life.

Talk soon,
Nick
